This year’s festival will showcase the work of 4O innovative contemporary dance makers with an added challenge. Festival Twenty Ten participants have been asked to adopt Dance NOWs’ “less is more” attitude, and present a work that is a maximum of seven minutes long while still maintaining a concise, clear and complete artistic message.

The shakuhachi kicks off the piece but iquickly gives way to Rick and his accordion. I originally intended to use the shakuhachi more but this particular piece really needed the guitar.  I started playing the electric guitar when I was 13 years-old and played well into my 30’s. Then the shakuhachi took over. This was a great opportunity to rock out again. The Dance NOW! Festival is usually sold out so there will be an audience of at least 300 (plus standing room). It’s one of the most exciting and energizing festivals around. I’m so excited to be a part of it. We close the evening tomorrow.

What a busy day it day was. Today Sasa and Jet had their official first day of school. Then they ran amok late into the evening while we were rehearsing. It’s “take the kids to work day” everyday here smile
