We were spending time in Barrington, RI last week for summer vacation. There is a great YMCA camp for the kids. They can swim, do nature walks and arts and crafts all day while eating grandma’s cooking in the evening. While the kids were at camp, my partner and I were practicing yoga at Synergy Yoga.

Synergy practices Baptiste Vinyasa Heated Yoga. There are some great teachers here. We arrived early one day so I played the shakuhachi out front in the yard. When we entered into space, the teacher, Anna-Lisa Nasstrom Meyer, said she heard me play and asked if I could play for the class that day. So I did! I played as the participants entered and at the end during Savasana (final Corpse pose). I have played in front of many audiences through out the US and in several countries, but never have I been so mindful of my sound. I highly recommend a class here at Synergy Yoga. Anna-Lisa and the other teachers are very well practiced and truly wonderful and inspiring. Beginners who do not understand their bodies may get hurt. One of my favorite quotes from her class was, ” ...we must be mindful of our path as we embark on the Journey into stillness”. When the class was over, Anna-Lisa asked me to come back and play again. And I did smile
Enjoy each breath!

Thanks Ed!
I just shared the shakuhachi at the Oakland Museum for some outside cafeteria dinners as I played by the Coi pond!
