Lost shakuhachi Flutes!

I had been using the US Postal Service to deliver my flutes for the past five years. Recently, because of online convenience, I started using UPS. In only two months of switching over, UPS had lost four of my shakuhachi. Yes! Count'em...FOUR! Somewhere out there are two lucky people playing earth shakuhachi, someone trying to get a sound on a PVC 2.4, and one really lucky person blowing on a magnificent 2.4 rootend Hocchiku! UPS's compensation method is slow and painful. They are not even going to reimburse me for the full cost of the Hocchiku even though they were grossly negligent in this delivery. They, for some unknown reason, decided to reroute the package to an address unknown and unspecified by me. I have gone back to the Post Office. They've never lost a flute. If it wasn't for those darn lines!

Hi Perry, your site is fabulous, you are such a class act. Every detail of your site is amazing...congratulations. You know, Fed Ex has lost two packages of mine in one month, a $1600 and a $480 package. I use priority US mail all the time and it is very simple to do this and print out labels right online. I found a source of those pressure sensitive labels and got a box of about 500 for $5.00! The post office is $9.00 for 25. Anyway, when you print out your label online for the post office you do not have to wait in line, you just drop the packages off because they are ready to go. Maybe you know all this already. If you want some of those labels I can try to get you a box and ship them to you. Take care, Neil

Hi Perry,
Having little to do this PM I began reading the blog and now the rants.
I have a beautiful new 2.8 earth model that I am learning on and learning to love, I've been watching the auctions and will probably be bidding again soon.
I wanted to comment on the post office lines comment.
You can get packing material from the post office for priority sent packages, and if you can pre pay the postage and print the label at work all you have to do is hand over the pre paid and printed and labeled package to your friendly local clerk at the PO and walk away.
Using online (ebay/paypal) services to do the label usually gets you a free delivery confirmation too.
No this wasn't an ad.
Regards,
John Lawrence
