This is a smooth playing fully functional bass flute pitched in F. All advanced fingerings work into the third octave for musical playing. Made for the taller player with longer arms and medium to large hands. In tune, wide bore, cavernous tube Watazumi sound. Ivory Sogawa Style utaguchi inlay. Japanese Shuai Urushi lacquered bore and root. Spot tuned for responsive playing required for Honkyoku muisc.

This fine instrument was started in in 2005 and finished around 2006. It has a dramatic taper in the bore which allows for back pressure for tonal manipulation or tone color shifting. It is made specially for Zen Honkyoku music.

This piece is actually about a 1.75 length and pitch a hair sharp of D with A = 440 HZ for experienced players. Plays best with an introspective Myoan style blowing. Can take more air and produce a light buzz in Dokyoku style. Great for Honkyoku and other solo or meditative playing. Rich introspective quality. Natural utaguchi, Japanese urushi lacquered bore and root end.
