1.8 Classical Kinko Ryu shakuhachi made by Kinshu. 1960’s. Smooth classical Kinko Sankyoku tone.
The playability is as expected for an instrument of this respected maker - perfect for Sankyoku especially of the Kinko ryu and can also play other shakuhachi music including modern music. There are repaired cracks with inlay rattan and kusabi butterfly nails. There are two moved finger holes, which is common with Kinshu flutes. Everything was done by a traditional craftsman in Japan. This is a beautiful instrument in looks and playability. I am making this fine instrument available for a dear friend and fellow student of Ralph Samuelson.
This shakuhachi came into the United States through the efforts of John Singer. The previous owner was Brian Ritchie. The owner will consider an an offer. There is a two week audition period.
