Antique 2.0 Length, 60cm, 24” (C pitch) shakuhachi.This old monk’s flute is over 100 years old and is a smooth playing instrument that is in very good tuning.
It has an intimate yet resonant and evocative voice, perfect for solo Zen Honkyoku music. The exterior was lacquered over several layers of Shuai urushi lacquer, a translucent brown. It was done by a monk, not by a modern day professional urushi laqcuerware artist. It has an organic wabi sabi feel to the entire flute.
