2.2 length (between B and Bb Pitch) Chikusing Model shakuhachi. This natural bore shakuhachi has had my Spot Tuning method for smoother response and dynamic control for Zen Honkyoku music.
This instrument is made to play the Dokyokyu style of Honkyoku in the way I learned through Kinya Sogawa in Japan. It can handle all the advanced fingerings required for any style of Honkyoku music. The tone color is evocative of a bamboo forest, calming and rustic. This instrument can go from a whisper to a scream. There is a superficial 2” hairline crack at the top side. This does not affect the beauty or playability of the instrument but the price has been reduced accordingly.
