Antique 2.0 Length, 60cm, 24” (C pitch) shakuhachi.This old monk’s flute is over 100 years old and is a smooth playing instrument that is in very good tuning.
Here is an authentic fine playing Edo period Komuso shakuhachi in the 2.0 length pitched around C. It has a Myoan Horn inlay and a sanded down surface, all done in a typical fashion seen on many early Komuso style flutes. All the advanced fingerings work so this instrument is not only a great collectors item but a player can use it to perform period shakuhachi music for authenticity.
1.7 Tensei Old Monk’s Shakuhachi 3.0 CHIKUSING Choukan Bass shakuhachi. This fine instrument was started in in 2005 and finished around 2006. It has a dramatic taper in the bore which allows for back pressure for tonal manipulation or tone color shifting. It is made specially for Zen Honkyoku music.
